1. Who this is between
This site is operated by the SmartCom Revisited maintainers. Using it means accepting these terms. If you publish button sets, the community upload terms apply as well.
2. The software
SmartCom Revisited is provided free of charge, as is. The builds currently offered are not code-signed, which the download page explains in detail. Verify the SHA-256 checksum of anything you download.
3. The button exchange
Everything on the exchange is uploaded by other users. It is not written, tested or endorsed by us. We show you the full script of every button before you download it so that you can judge it yourself — that is the safeguard, and it is the only one that scales.
Automated flagging of destructive commands is a convenience. It matches known command patterns and it will miss things. A bundle without a flag has not been checked and approved; it has simply not matched a rule.
4. At your own risk
Commands you run from a shared button set run on your equipment, with your credentials, under your authority. You are responsible for what they do. Test on something that does not matter first. This applies whether or not a bundle carries a warning flag.
5. Accounts
Keep your password to yourself, use an address you can receive mail at, and do not create accounts to get around a suspension. We can suspend an account that breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy.
6. Availability
No uptime is promised. Content can be removed, and the service can change or stop. Keep your own copy of anything you depend on — bundles are files, and you can download them.
7. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from use of this site, the software, or anything downloaded from the exchange — including outages, damaged configuration, or lost data on your equipment. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
8. Changes and law
These terms may change; the current version is always the one on this page. They are governed by the law of the United Kingdom.
